Liz Taylor - Member

Liz_TaylorI was elected to the Hanover School Board in November 2007, and prior to being elected to the school board, I was deeply involved in the Hanover Parent Teacher Organization and an active member of Hanover Dist 28 Accountability Committee.   I am actively involved in several community initiatives and organizations – many of them focused on community building and positive youth development. “I think it would be very hard to accomplish one without the other.”

My agenda is to create a future where all students succeed, and where accountability is shared by administrators, teachers, parents, labor, business, and the community at large.  My priorities include creating small, safe, personalized schools that serve as centers of the community; teacher quality; expanding and honoring the role of parents.

In addition to my duties on the School Board, my husband Mark and I have been active in Boy Scouts of America for 28 years and started a Cub Scout Pack here for my nephew eleven years ago.  Members of the Hanover Community for 15 years we have recently organized a Boy Scout Troop, and more recently a Venture Crew for boys and girls ages 14-21.

In 1994, my husband Mark and I moved to Hanover after retiring from the Air Force to be close to the mountains and our extended family.
